Man arrested after deadly DUI crash in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was arrested after a deadly DUI crash in Providence early Monday morning.

Providence police responded just before 2 a.m. to the two-car crash at the intersection of Broad Street and the service road in front of Crossroads Rhode Island.

The driver of the car traveling south on the service road struck another car going west on Broad.

The driver identified as Jonathan Santiago, 29, of Rockland, Massachusetts, was taken to the hospital with injuries. The passenger, only identified as a man, died at the scene.

Santiago was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence death resulting, and driving to endanger death resulting.

The crash remains under investigation.
