WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – A man was arrested Sunday night after stealing a car and robbing a gas station in Warwick.

Warwick Police responded to the Seasons Corner Market at 2128 Elmwood Avenue for reports of an auto theft. An unattended 1997 Toyota Corolla was stolen while the owner paid for gas inside.

While investigating the theft, officers were also dispatched to Valero Gas at 885 Post Road for reports of a robbery in progress. Police learned a white male suspect fled the scene in a small black sedan with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police later located the Toyota abandoned in the nearby area. Police determined that the vehicle stolen from the Seasons Corner Market was the same vehicle used in the Valero robbery.

Officers located 21-year-old Nathan Fay while canvassing the area and identified him as the suspect in the robbery.

Fay was arrested and charged with Second Degree Robbery and Driving a Motor Vehicle without Consent of the Owner.
