Providence Police have made an arrest in what they’re calling a string of robberies throughout the city.

35-year-old Willie Rathbone was picked up on an outstanding warrant at an apartment on Elmwood Avenue around noon Wednesday–following a robbery at the Walgreens on North Main Street Tuesday night.

In that apartment police found a BB gun they say was used in the holdup.

Police believe Rathbone was also involved in eight or nine other robberies at stores and gas stations throughout Providence–and one targeting a woman on the street–all in the last week, and all using that same gun.

Right now police are looking over surveillance video and interviewing victims in each of those cases–and expect several charges to be filed soon.

We’re told Cranston and Pawtucket Police are also looking at Rathbone as a suspect in robberies there.
