Man arrested for threatening police officers

Murder threats against police officers in Quincy lead investigators to a man in Cranston.

According to Cranston Police, 31-year-old Jerome McIntyre made specific threats on Facebook to shoot and kill officers over a property dispute he’d been involved in.

McIntyre was living in Harrington Hall, a homeless shelter in Cranston, when police tracked him down on Sunday.

After a brief struggle, he was arrested on March 1st. He was also found to be in possession of a knife with a blade over 3”.

In addition to the two District Court bench warrants, McIntyre was charged by the Cranston Police Department with Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Weapon other Than a Firearm (knife). 

The Quincy Police Department will file for extradition once Mr. McIntyre’s Rhode Island criminal matters have been adjudicated
