Man arrested for West Warwick hit-and-run

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A 41-year-old sustained a badly broken leg and head injuries after he the vehicle he was hit by fled the scene, West Warwick Police said.

Responders were dispatched Saturday in the early morning hours after a report came in of a hit-and-run in the area of Pulaski St. and Manchester St.

Eric Kinsey, 41, was found in the roadway with a broken leg and head injuries.

Witnesses said they saw a car, described a dark color Nissan sedan, fleeing the area after the crash.

A short time later, authorities confirmed, the vehicle involved was found.

“The grey Nissan Altima had damage consistent with the accident, including a windshield that was partially caved by the impact,” said West Warwick Police Department Detective Lieutenant John Malloy.

After looking into the registration of the car, officers went to a residence on Kowalik Dr. and found 21 year-old Kiel Daily, who was identified as the operator.  

Daily was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, and conditions requiring reduced speeds.

Kinsey was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
