Man attempting to cross street in Easton hit, killed by car

EASTON, Mass. (WLNE) — An 84-year-old Easton man was killed after being hit by a car over the weekend, according to authorities.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday on Foundry Street.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, the found Michael Ginsberg lying in the road “suffering from traumatic injuries.”

Ginsberg was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, where he died.

Chief Keith Boone said while returning home, Ginsberg tried crossing Foundry Street in front of La Familia restaurant, when he was hit by a 2012 Hyundai sedan traveling westbound.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as a 24-year-old from Brockton.

Boone said the 24-year-old stayed on scene and so far, faces no charges.

No further information was immediately released.
