Man charged after near head-on collision with police cruiser.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police are currently investigating after a man crashed into a police cruiser on Sunday.
Police say the crash happened at 3:38 a.m when the police cruiser was heading south on Elmwood Avenue at the intersection of Arch Street.
The driver of a dark SUV turned left and caused the collision, doing immense damage to both vehicles. The officer involved in the accident was treated and released.
The driver of the SUV is unidentified at this time and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver is being charged with DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and driving without a license.
