Man charged with child abuse after strangling victim
BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said Friday that a Burrillville man faces a child abuse charge after allegedly strangling an adolescent.
Kevin Pomfret was charged with second-degree child abuse after surrendering himself to Burrillville police in February.
Neronha said Pomfret, who’s 37 years old, strangled a victim in January who was under the age of 14 at the time.
Burrillville police found that the strangulation caused physical injury to the victim.
Pomfret is scheduled to face a Providence County Superior Court judge in July.
