NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A man has been convicted Thursday in a deadly 2018 shooting on Veteran’s Day in New Bedford.

A jury found Alexis Silva guilty of murder and firearm charges in connection to the death of 23-year-old Reynaldo Pina, according to District Attorney Thomas Quinn.

Pina was shot around 2 a.m. on Shawmut Avenue, and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Silva was on the list of most wanted fugitives after being on the run for more than four months, before he turned himself into police in 2019.
