Man facing murder charge linked to New Bedford shooting

NEW BEDFORD, MASS (WLNE) – A 27-year-old man is being arraigned in New Bedford District Court for a fatal shooting that happened on Tuesday night.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s office said Jonovan Gonzalez was arrested on Wednesday night.

According to the D.A’s office, Gonzalez will be arraigned on murder and gun charges, for the death of 41-year-old Ausarmaat Rahotep.

Rahotep was found on Dartmouth Street where he was sent to St. Luke’s hospital and died from gunshot related injuries.

Rahotep was arrested in Florida in 2017, for making threats towards President Donald Trump.
