Man hospitalized after being pulled from pond in Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE)- A man was rushed to the hospital after being pulled from Johnson’s Pond in Coventry on Monday.

The 52-year-old was unresponsive on the bank when rescue officials arrived at the scene near Harkney Hill Road.

Bystanders pulled the man from the water before rescue crews arrived at the scene, according to police.

Fire and police officials think that the man had some kind of medical issue that caused him to fall into the water.

The man’s condition is unknown as he remains in the hospital.
