Man in custody after 1 child, 2 adults stabbed in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said a man is in custody after three people were stabbed in their home Tuesday night.

A home on Reynolds Avenue was cordoned off with crime scene tape when an ABC 6 News crew arrived on scene around 10 p.m.

Officers were seen going in and out of the home and searching the second floor.

Police said an 8-year-old, a woman in her 70s, and a man in his 50s were stabbed.

Police said the 8-year-old was stabbed multiple times and was in surgery at a nearby hospital.

Authorities confirmed to ABC 6 that a 22-year-old man was arrested.

Officials believe the incident to be of domestic nature as all who were involved are related.

Police told ABC 6 that all three are in the hospital and in stable condition.
