A man jumped from the third floor of his burning home in Providence to avoid flames early Thursday morning.

Deputy Assistant Fire Chief Joseph Desmarais says flames broke out around 11:30 Wednesday night at the three-story wood frame on Yale Avenue.

Everyone inside was able to escape uninjured, except for one man who was on the third floor. He jumped out of the home and was sent to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition is still unknown.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.
