Man killed in Woonsocket motorcycle crash

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Woonsocket after attempting to flee from police.

According to police, it happened just before 12:00 p.m. Wednesday on River Street near High Street after an officer attempted to pull over 34-year-old Darren Harris for driving erratically on his motorcycle.

Harris sped away at a high rate of speed, losing control of the motorcycle and crashing head-on with a vehicle going in the opposite direction.

Harris died on the way to the hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
