PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was shot in a car in Providence on Thursday night.

A man, who’s name was not released, told police he was driving a gray Toyota Camry on Union Avenue when another vehicle started to chase him.

He reported that he was shot in the leg while trying to get away by making a two-point turn near the intersection at Ricom Way.

The man fled to the McDonalds parking lot on Cranston Street and Webster Avenue, where Providence and Cranston officers met with him around 9 p.m.

Police said there was a single bullet hole in the driver’s side door.

Although the man was not able to describe the vehicle that chased him, a woman told police she saw a black sedan with Massachusetts plates shoot in the direction of the Camry.

She said the sedan then took off toward Route 10 south.

No arrests were made and the incident is under investigation.
