A man who was shot in the leg while at a hall in Providence was left injured Saturday night.

Police tell ABC 6  Praseuthfak Ngolvorarath, 58, whose residence is unknown, was playing cards in a hall on Smith Street when he felt pain in his left leg and realized he was shot on May 30th at 11:10 p.m.

They say the bullet went into the left leg seven inches above the ankle and exited the body. A friend took the victim to Roger Williams Hospital with the non-life threatening injury.

Officials say Ngolvorarath was inside the hall when the bullet came through the door from outside when it struck him. The door of the  establishment sustained damage and BCI responded to the incident.

Police were on scene for a report of shots fired at 370 Orms Street right before they responded to the incident.

After responding to Smith Street, they heard 9 to 10 shots being fired in the area of Orms Street and returned to investigate. Upon arrival they discovered additional evidence but no injuries were reported.

There aren’t any suspects and the cases remain under investigation at this time.
