Man sought for April killing in Providence arrested in Georgia

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (WLNE) — Police in Georgia arrested a Rhode Island man sought for a deadly April shooting in Providence.
Sandy Springs police said that Robert Komhlan was arrested Thursday morning in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Police said that several agencies and task forces made the arrest after it was discovered Komhlan was hiding out in Georgia.
Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin confirmed Komhlan was wanted for an April 1 shooting outside the Wonderland Gentlemen’s Club.
In that shooting, police said a fight broke out inside the club between two groups.
The groups were kicked out of the club when a SUV approached the group and shot 30-year-old Angelo Gomez.
Gomez was taken to the hospital, where he died a week later.
Komhlan is being held at the Fulton County Jail as a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition.
