Man, teenager arrested after Fall River police find loaded gun during traffic stop

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River police say a man who was wanted on a drug warrant is facing new illegal gun possession charges.

Officers pulled 37-year-old William Murchison on Second Street on Thursday. He is known to police and was driving with a suspended license.

Police said Murchison had an outstanding warrant for distributing a class B drug.

Officers searched the vehicle and reportedly found a loaded gun in a backpack, held by a 17-year-old in the passenger seat.

Murchison and the 17-year-old were arrested without incident.

In addition to the warrant, Murchison is facing several illegal gun possession charges.

The teenager is facing similar gun charges.
