Man transported to Rhode Island Hospital after motorcycle crash in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE)- Officers from the Warwick Police Department responded to reports of a crash between a motorcycle and a sedan at 777 Airport Road on Monday night.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a 25-year-old man lying in the westbound lane. They were later able to confirm that the man was the driver of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He suffered injuries to a few different parts of his body and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.

Police say that the man is now in stable condition, but remains at the hospital.

The driver of the sedan was an adult woman. She didn’t appear to have suffered any injuries according to the Warwick Police Department.

She stayed at the scene to try and help the motorcycle driver. Several other witnesses did the same.

Police believe that the motorcycle driver switched into the opposite lane and drove into the sedan as the driver was pulling out of a parking lot.

The identities of both drivers have yet to be announced by police.

The incident remains under investigation. More details will be added as they become available.
