The man wanted in connection to a triple shooting at the Providence bar, El Tiburon, has been arrested.

26-year-old Michael Stokes was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals at his mother’s home in North Carolina on Sunday. He is being held there and will be brought back to Rhode Island later this week.

Stokes is being charged with three counts of felony assault with a firearm and several firearm charges, in connection to the shooting that occurred at the Valley Street bar in the early hours of October 17th, injuring one male and two females.

The Board of Licenses voted to close the Valley Street bar immediately after the shooting. On November 5th, the bar’s owner surrendered the restaurant’s licenses during a hearing, planning to close for good and sell the building. His lawyer told the board that circumstances dictated the decision and that it was not an "admission of guilt."

This isn’t the first act of violence to occur at El Tiburon. In 2007 a reputed gang leader was shot and killed there.
