Man who dragged Fall River officer with ATV gets 2-year prison term

FALL RIVER Mass. (WLNE) — A 21-year-old man who dragged a Fall River police officer with his ATV in November of last year has been sent to prison.

Jeremias Cabral was sentenced to two-years in prison on after he was found guilty of several charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious injury, assault and battery on a police officer and several other charges.

On Nov. 4, a veteran Fall River officer was dragged by an ATV driven by Cabral after Cabral fled a traffic stop.

Investigators were able to identify Cabral as the culprit and he was arrested for the incident a month later.

Cabral was also involved in an incident in Dartmouth that sparked an Amber Alert.
