Man, woman accused of distributing drugs near school in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A Pawtucket man and woman are accused of distributing drugs from their apartment.

Police said they executed a court ordered search warrant on Hancock Street Thursday, after several months of investigating an illegal distribution of drugs.

There, Det. Lt. Dino Giorgio said officers arrested Kevin Goncalves and Rosa Depina, who lived near an elementary school.

Police, Giorgio said, seized about 11 grams of cocaine, six ounces of marijuana, and 60 pills identified as amphetamine/dextroamphetamine.

Digital scales and packaging material, three guns, and roughly $24,000 in cash were also seized, said police.

Goncalves was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to deliver schedule II (cocaine)
  • Possession with intent to deliver schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II (amphetamines)
  • Possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation — 3 counts
  • Possession of firearm prohibited-person convicted of a felony — 3 counts
  • Maintaining a common nuisance
  • Conspiracy
  • Distribution/manufacturing in or near a school zone

Depina was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to deliver schedule II (cocaine)
  • Possession with intent to deliver schedule I (marijuana)
  • Possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II (amphetamines)
  • Possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation — 3 counts
  • Conspiracy
  • Maintaining a common nuisance
  • Distribution/manufacturing in or near a school zone

The suspects were arraigned and held without bail and taken to the ACI.
