FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said Monday a 53-year-old man died at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough during the New England Patriots-Miami Dolphins game this past weekend.

The incident happened during the fourth quarter just before 11 p.m. Sunday.

State police said the man “suffered an apparent medical event” in the 308/309 section of the stadium.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office identified the man as Dale Mooney, of New Hampshire. He was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where he died just before midnight.

Police said they, along with the district attorney’s office, are investigating the “facts and circumstances of [Mooney’s] death,” including the events prior to the medical incident.
