Mansfield police ask for help after gunshots heard through neighborhood
MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Mansfield Police Department is asking for the help of residents and businesses identifying a vehicle from which multiple gunshots were fired.
Authorities said just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning, shots were fired from a car in the area of Franklin Street and Darby Drive.
A resident of the area provided Nest camera footage of an unidentified vehicle driving by the home while shooting out the window.
Shortly after reviewing the footage, another 911 call came in before 3:30 a.m., reporting a bullet hole and remains of a bullet in a nearby home.
Additional Mansfield detectives were called in to canvas the area in search of more damage and any possible suspects.
Officers eventually deemed the area clear after no suspects were immediately located. The investigation into identifying the shooter remains ongoing.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Mansfield police are further asking the public to check any home or business surveillance footage for suspicious activity that may be connected to the shooting.
