Mass. Police: Truck Crashes, Sets Home Ablaze

BOSTON (AP) – Authorities say a truck driver is dead and four motorists are injured after a gasoline tanker crashed in flames just north of Boston, setting three buildings ablaze and prompting

Massachusetts state police say the crash involving seven vehicles occurred around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 1 near Saugus.

The truck slammed into the median, rolled over and went up in flames. Drivers in six other vehicles became involved in the crash as they attempted to avoid the accident.

Police spokesman David Procopio says fuel spilled into a drainage ditch and then went up in flames near some residences.

Two buildings in a greenhouse compound were extensively damaged by flames. One private home was also damaged.

Some homes were evacuated but police did not give a number.
