Mass. Soldier Killed in Combat Coming Home

HANSCOM, AFB. – The remains of fallen Massachusetts Soldier Spc. Scott Andrews, a Fall River native and member of the 618th Engineer Support Company, 27th Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Airborne), 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat), Fort Bragg, N.C., will arrive at Hanscom Air Force Base at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at the Manuel Rogers & Sons, 1521 North Main Street, Fall River.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery on Robeson Street in Fall River.
Andrews died June 21 at Forward Operating Base Lagman, Zabul province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
