Mass Troopers investigating crash that seriously injured child in Raynham

RAYNHAM, MASS (WLNE) – A child was transported to a Boston hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Route 24 South.

Troopers responded to Route 24 South, Prior to the Route 44 Exit in Raynham at approximately 9:40 P.M, where a 1-year-old child was seriously injured.

According to police, a 17-year-old Taunton teenager collided with a Toyota Sienna with 4 occupants inside.

An Investigation by Mass State Police suggests that the Sienna was southbound on Route 24 when it changed lanes from left to right because it was approaching construction.

The 17-year-old Taunton driver also southbound, where the front end of his car collided with the Sienna, causing both to spin out of control.

A 1-year-old was transported to Boston Children’s hospital with serious injuries.

Another child and both adult passengers of the sienna were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not reported additional injuries at this time.

The crash remains under investigation, and additional details should be provided Friday, police say.
