BOSTON (WLNE) — Massachusetts regulators voted to target “late January” as the start date for sports betting in the Commonwealth to go live.

The ABC affiliate in Boston reports that the Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted 4-0, with one abstention to launch sports betting in casinos ahead of the Super Bowl.

The commission is also targeting to launch sports betting in March, ahead of March Madness.

Sports betting was legalized this year by the legislature after years of debate.
