STOUGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A man from Massachusetts was arrested Saturday in New York City in connection with the murder of a Stoughton woman.

Victor Carter, a 39-year-old with recent addresses in Stoughton and Brockton, was arrested at Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City for the recent murder of Amber Buckner.

On Tuesday, Buckner was pronounced dead after being found in an outbuilding behind the main house at 743 Park St.

It is alleged that Carter “had a relationship history” with the victim.

Carter will soon appear in a New York court to start the rendition process, said Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey.

“If you do not feel safe in your relationship, or you know someone who is not safe in their relationship, calling SafeLink at 877-785-2020 is a confidential first step on the path to safety,” District Attorney Morrissey said.
