Massachusetts reports 10 new deaths from COVID-19

823 new cases reported, bringing state total to 3240

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 10 more deaths from coronavirus on Friday.

The deceased ranged in age from their 60s to their 90s. Four were from Norfolk county, two from Berkshire county, and one each were reported from Middlesex, Barnstable, Franklin, and Bristol counties. At least four had known preexisting conditions.

Total deaths for the state stand at 35.

The department also reported 823 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 3240.

The cases are split almost evenly between men and women, and have the virus has infected individuals from diverse age groups. At least 288 patients are known to be hospitalized at this time.
