NEW BEDFORD, M.A. (WLNE) – Step Two of Phase Two begins Monday in Massachusetts and with that comes the reopening of indoor seating at restaurants for the state.

At the Black Whale Restaurant in New Bedford, they’ve been open for takeout and outdoor seating only.

They say it’s been busy. Reservations have been filling up a couple days in advance.

Now, they say they’re ready to welcome guests back into their dining room.

Cythina Lawrence, Manager – Black Whale Restaurant said, “We’re not nervous at all. We’re 100% prepared. We’ve mapped everything out. We have procedures in place. So, we’re actually really excited to get the inside open again and gain a little bit more seating for our guests, because we’ve had to turn a lot of people away who have been banging down the doors trying to get in and go out to eat.”

Lawrence says one of the hardest parts of the reopening process has been staffing the restaurant because of childcare issues or staff that were afraid to come back.
