A convicted child kidnapper and rapist, whose release from prison sparked outrage, is heading back to court.

Police say 49-year-old Richard Gardner failed to notify a Quincy, Massachusetts librarian that he was a registered sex offender, which is in violation of a city ordinance.

Gardner is a level 3 sex offender and was just released from prison on October 3rd.

He admitted to kidnapping and brutally raping two young boys in the 80s. One of those boys was from Rhode Island.

Gardner was originally sentenced to 190 years behind bars, but served only 30.

His recent release has put neighbors on edge.

“She doesn’t sleep in her room.”

Gardner is on probation until 2043, which includes no contact with his victim.

It is important to note that this latest incident does not violate his probation.
