Massachusetts starts vaccinating first responders

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Dozens of first responders got vaccinated in Bristol County on Monday.

According to Fall River fire officials, just in that city by the end of the week, more than 200 first responders are expected to have received their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

“I feel like the vaccine starts with the first responders to get it, so everybody else can get it,” paramedic Robert Porawski said. “Mostly to set an example for everyone.”

First responders in cities like Fall River and New Bedford got vaccinated on Monday, but other first responders in Bristol County, like in Taunton, Swansea, and Attleboro are going to start getting the vaccine on Tuesday.
