Massachusetts state police investigating deadly crash

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Troopers and other emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The police’s preliminary investigation says that a 2004 Nissan Maxima struck the rear of a 2014 Toyota RAV 4 as it was travelling northbound on Route 495.

The Nissan went out of control, veered off the road,, rolled over and caught on fire, while the RAV 4 hit a guardrail, police say.

The Norton Police Department extinguished the fire and found Jeffrey Tagger, 52, of Randolph deceased inside.

The two occupants of the RAV 4, both men from Brockton, were transported to the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
