Massachusetts State Police seize thousands of illegal fireworks as summer begins

BOSTON (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said they’ve seized thousands of illegal fireworks in first few weeks of June alone.

Officials took to social media sharing a picture of boxes of fireworks stacked on top of one another in front of a Massachusetts Fire Academy cargo trailer.

State police urged the public to remember, fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts, even if purchased legally in another state.

“Don’t risk injury, fire, or a day in court,  leave fireworks to the professionals,” Massachusetts State Police said.
