BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) – An MBTA subway train derailed Tuesday morning, leading to severe delays and one injury.

The Red Line train derailed in the area of JFK/UMass station in Dorchester around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Boston Fire Department said they evacuated 60 people from the trains. One person reported suffering a minor injury.

The MBTA said shuttle buses will operate between North Quincy and Broadway and between Ashmont and Broadway. Passengers can also utilize Commuter Rail services from Braintree, Quincy Center and JFK.

Commuters are encouraged to seek alternate transportation.

This comes after an MBTA Green Line derailment on Saturday sent nine people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

MBTA officials said Saturday’s incident was “operator-related”.
