McKee holds virtual meeting on COVID-19 plan

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Lt. Gov. Dan McKee holds a virtual meeting with his COVID-19 transition team as he awaits the gubernatorial transition.

He and about 20 of his advisors talked about issues ranging from expansion of vaccination to prioritizing teachers.

The meeting lasted about 30 minutes.

“This transition is a one of a kind transition with all the issues going on, so I just want to make that clear that the efforts of this committee, this group, or this advisory group is not stepping on anyone’s toes,” Lt. Gov. McKee said.

Gov. Raimondo awaits confirmation to President Biden’s cabinet as U.S. commerce secretary.

She came under fire in February—accused of delaying the transition of power to McKee.

Multiple Rhode Island mayors called for her resignation.
