McKee signs executive order extending COVID-19 state of emergency

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee has once again extended the states declaration of emergency for the coronavirus.

The original order was set to expire Friday, Sept. 2. It will now stay in place until Sept. 30.

The order declared a state of emergency because of the dangers to health and life posed by COVID-19.

It was originally signed by former Gov. Gina Raimondo back in March of 2020.
