McKee signs tangible tax relief legislation

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee signed tangible tax relief legislation on Thursday.
The tangible tax bill, sponsored by Sen. Melissa Murray (D-24, Woonsocket, North Smithfield), was approved by the General Assembly on June 15 and was signed into law by McKee last week.
McKee was joined by Murray and other officials in a ceremony at Davenport’s on Mendon Road in Cumberland.
The legislation will exempt the first $50,000 of tangible property from the tangible personal property tax in support of small businesses.
