Medical Examiner: Elderly Woonsocket died of multiple stab wounds

The state medical examiner’s office has released the cause of death in the murder of an 81-year-old Woonsocket woman who was found ht her home on March 23.

Spokesperson Joseph Wendelken told ABC6 that Constance Gauthier died of multiple stab wounds.

Gauthier, who was the chairwoman of the city’s Personnel Board, was found by a neighbor in her bedroom at her home on Fairfield Avenue.

No  one has been charged with her murder and police are still investigating.
