Meet the Candidates: Sen. Ana Quezada
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — ABC 6 News spoke with Democratic candidate for the 1st Congressional District special election, Senator Ana Quezada on Friday.
A state senator, representing District Two in Providence, a code enforcement inspector and a mother of three, Sen. Quezada said even among the numerous democratic candidates she has the experience needed to fight for the state, and the city of Providence on the federal level.
“I’ve always been there, I always respond to their needs and I’m sure that I’m going to get a good amount of the Latino [voters], but how its going to split, I don’t have an idea, I just hope that the Latino [voters] come out and support me. I have the experience, I’ve been in the senate enough — for almost eight years — and they know my work, and I will be doing the best to fight for Rhode Island in congress,” Quezada explained.
The special election for the 1st Congressional District seat to replace former Rep. David Cicilline will take place on Sept. 5.
