Meet the Candidates: Terri Flynn

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — ABC 6 News spoke with Republican candidate for the 1st Congressional District election, Terri Flynn on Tuesday.

A small business owner and former town councilor and planning board member in Middletown, Flynn describes herself as a citizen candidate, saying she’s more like the average voter rather than a stereotypical politician, who looks to bring experience to the table that doesn’t stem from a background in business or law.

“I would tell any independent or unaffiliated voter that if I’m their candidate, they can read up on me at terriflynnforcongress.com, and if I’m the candidate for them, they do need to ask for that republican ballot and to consider voting differently for change, looking at a candidate, rather than a party. And I think I’ve shown that I can provide that non-partisan approach at the federal level,” Flynn explained.

The special election for the 1st Congressional District seat to replace former Rep. David Cicilline will take place on Sept. 5.
