Memorial ceremony to honor fallen Cranston police officers

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Fallen members of the Cranston Police Department will be honored in a memorial ceremony on Wednesday.
The honors are one of many local tributes to officers killed in the line of duty as a part of National Police Week.
“Every year we continue to honor heroic and brave officers from the Cranston Police Department and from across the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as those officers who continue to serve despite the inherent risks associated with the profession,” said Col. Michael Winquist. “These Officers will never be forgotten and our prayers are with their families, friends and Officers from their respective police departments.”
The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in front of the police department.
The public is welcome and refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
