Mendon Road in Cumberland closed after water main break

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cumberland Police Department announced a portion of Mendon Road will be closed after a water main broke on Monday.

According to officials, the road is closed between Boardman Avenue and Ventry Drive as crews dig up pavement to access the water line.

ABC 6 News crews are on the scene where construction machinery could be seen digging up pavement as workers inspected the surrounding area.

Information regarding the cause of the water main break was not immediately released.
