(WLNE)–  Michael Cohen, the former attorney of President Donald Trump, will be released from prison Thursday, a source with knowledge of the matter has confirmed to ABC News.

Cohen is expected to leave federal prison in Otisville, New York to complete the rest of his three year sentence on home confinement.

ABC news reported that an earlier bid for Cohen to be released ahead of time was declined out of confusion between federal prison officials and the Department of Justice over who was eligible for release due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The former attorney and “fixer” for the president was sentenced for campaign finance violations and charges of misleading authorities.
