Middletown police expected to give update on ‘suspicious’ death Friday

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Middletown police are set to give an update after a 39-year-old man was found dead in his home Tuesday.

Police said they will provide the latest information surrounding the death of John Edward-Corbett at 10 a.m. news briefing.

Investigators said they are investigating the death as “suspicious.”

Officers responded to Edward-Corbett’s home on West Main Road Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. to perform a welfare check, according to police.

Police said once they made their way into the home they discovered Edward-Corbett’s body.

An autopsy is being performed to determine a cause of death.
