Miss East Greenwich Competes in National Pageant This Weekend

A Rhode Island pageant contestant will be taking to the national stage this weekend.

Earlier this summer, “Miss East Greenwich” Alexandra Curtis finished as “First Runner–up” in the Miss Rhode Island Pageant.

Friday through Sunday she’ll be competing in the “National Sweetheart Pageant” just outside of Chicago.

For over 70 years that pageant has invited the “First Runners-up” from every state’s “Miss America” contest, to compete.

“Well I really hope the other states learn a little bit more about Rhode Island; something beyond us just being the smallest states. There are so many fun quirky things about this state that I love, and I sure hope that everyone sees that and has a new perspective on Rhode Island after this pageant,” said Miss Rhode Island Sweetheart Alexandra Curtis.

Alexandra is a former ABC6 News Intern.

And we’ll know Sunday night if she places in this national pageant.
