HARTFORD, CONN. — A memorial for the Connecticut woman who went missing at sea is now the center of a family controversy.

The Hartford Courant reports that Nathan Carman is planning a funeral for his mother, Linda Carman, without the consent of her sisters.

That service is scheduled for Wednesday in West Hartford.

The lawyer representing Linda’s three sisters says they are not involved in the memorial and is calling it “premature and inappropriate” while the investigation into her death remains ongoing.
