PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)– At least three more school districts in Rhode Island are switching to distance learning through the end of the semester, ABC6 has learned.

Johnston, East Providence, and Burrillville will all switch to distance learning in the coming days.

Burrillville’s switch will begin tomorrow.

“We plan to return to our current partial model on January 4th, pending a review of the pandemic conditions,” read a statement on the Burrillville Public Schools Facebook page.

Superintendent of Johnston schools Dr. Bernard DiLullo, Jr. made the announcement at a school committee meeting earlier tonight. The district will switch to distance learning from Dec. 14 through Dec. 23, taking it into the holiday break.

East Providence announced a similar decision at its school committee, switching to distance learning from Dec. 12 until January 4.
