Motorcyclist involved in serious Pawtucket crash dies

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) – A man is dead following a serious motorcycle crash in Pawtucket Sunday morning.

State Police say that around 10:40 a.m. Sunday, they were called to the scene of a motorcycle accident on I-95 in Pawtucket.

According to police, the operator of a motorcycle crashed into a center Jersey Barrier near exit 27 on I-95 South.

The driver, Raymond J. Atnip, 31, of Stoughton, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Erratic driving and a high speed of travel are believed to have been factors involved in the incident.

Police say an investigation is underway.
